About me
Taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, or feeling overwhelmed by life. My role is to help make this process feel as safe, supportive, and manageable as possible.
I offer a free 30-minute “check it out” session by phone or online. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, learn a little about how counselling works, and get a sense of whether I am the right counsellor for you. There is no obligation to continue - this space is simply for you to decide what feels right.
I work with adults, children, and young people who experience a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, family and relationship issues, and low self-esteem. While I cannot change your past or remove difficult experiences, I believe strongly in our capacity to grow, reflect, and develop new ways of understanding ourselves and our relationships.
Counselling offers a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore what has brought you here. This may include your experiences, thoughts, feelings, patterns, triggers, strengths, and resilience. Many people find that having a consistent space to talk can help them feel less alone with what they are carrying.
I work in a collaborative way and am fully invested in supporting you at a pace that feels right for you. Where helpful, I will gently challenge unhelpful patterns, while remaining caring and supportive throughout. My approach is reflective and practical, grounded in helping you feel heard and understood.
For some people, counselling focuses on specific life events. For others, it involves longer-standing feelings of anxiety, low mood, or a sense of being stuck. Sometimes it is simply about having a safe space to pause, reflect, and be listened to without judgement.
Alongside therapeutic work, I also support individuals who are seeking space to reflect on the emotional impact of their professional roles. This may be particularly helpful for those working in emotionally demanding or caring professions, where boundaries, responsibilities, and workplace pressures can feel difficult to manage alongside personal experiences.
I adapt my approach to suit the communication style, needs, and pace of each individual. For those who find it difficult to put feelings into words, I can offer a more creative and flexible way of working when appropriate.
Sessions are available in person and online. I offer both short-term (around six weeks) and longer-term work. I have experience working across a range of settings, including private practice, employee assistance programmes, education, and the NHS, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. I am committed to offering a professional, compassionate, and thoughtful therapeutic space where meaningful understanding and change can develop.
If you feel this approach may be right for you, you are welcome to get in touch to explore this further.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
